Brain Aneurysms in Women

Why have stroke rates for men declined over the last decade, but women’s rates held steady? Ischemic stroke accounts for 87% of all strokes, according to the National Stroke Association. Risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension and atrial fibrillation are all factors; including specific female risk factors such as pregnancy related gestational diabetes. Tips to reduce your risk: stop smoking, diet/exercise, control hypertension, address atrial fibrillation, and consider aspirin therapy.
