Dr. Dewan’s story is an inspiring example of leadership across gender and ethnic barriers that can serve as a tale for anyone contemplating a career in medicine or health. Her extraordinary book will be particularly moving for women in medicine and for their partners, children, and parents — but the lessons apply to any of us trying to overcome barriers and tackle difficult challenges.
